Caribbean Cruises by Holland America

General Comments on Holland America Line:

HAL offers a classic, refined cruise and right now attracts a somewhat older crowd. Therefore it will be a quiet, stately cruise.

A fine tradition of cruising will be had here.

The Excellent, The Mediocre, and The Bad:

The Excellent

• really excellent service, very friendly
• it is worth the money, great value
• excellent exercise facilities, probably the best
• great dining, almost equal to Celebrity
• no automatic tipping
• entertainment is very good

The Mediocre

• the children's program is somewhat lacking
• generally 55+ age group (is this bad?)
• a gratuity of $10 per day is automatically added to each guest’s shipboard account, which can be adjusted up or down

The Bad

• maybe the children's program could be rated here - but if you are 55+, you may not care
